Experience / Background
Jack Adams began his professional career as a process engineer working on natural gas plants, LNG (Liquefied Natyural Gas), and refinery designs for Pritchard and Litwin in the 1970’s. Included US and foreign assignments both in office on onsite startup engineer. In the 1980’s, he was employed as Manager of Project Development and Project Manager for Koch Industries, developing and/or managing 28 refinery projects, targeting increased capacity and efficiency. Projects included new cryogenic gas plant, new Delayed Coker project development and a Coker revamps, a new CCR reformer, plus 24 other refinery projects. In 1992, Jack joined Clark Refining & Marketing as Assets Manager, responsible for upgrading their refineries. He led the technical evaluation for Clark’s acquisition of the Port Arthur refinery from Chevron and was responsible for Clark’s capital budget. In 1996, Jack formed Adams Project Managers, Inc. (APMI) to provide project management, process engineering support, consulting, contract review, and expert witness services. From 1996 through 2020, Jack provided services to Operating Companies, EPC’s, PM firms, and Law firms through APMI. Since January 1, 2021, Jack has worked as Independent Contractor, having closed APMI 12/31/2020. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Expert Witness / Consultant - Adams has been engaged as an Expert Witness and/or consultant for eight cases, including consulting, reports, depositions, in-depth research and trial testimony.

LNG and Natural Gas Processing Experience – Adams has participated in design, FEL analysis, review, precommissioning, and/or startup, of natural gas processing plants, truck loading LNG, Baseload (Algerian) LNG, and barge mounted LNG plants. - In 2012, Jack was employed by Black & Veatch Corp. as Project Manager for LNG projects: Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and cost estimate for a transportation LNG project. Feasibility study for a barge mounted plant for Australia and various small LNG plants. LNG plant options and truck loading stations for a Canadian Client. - From 2014 to present, Adams acted as a consultant on a new Canadian LNG plant.

Delayed Coking / Refining Experience – Jack worked on 40+ refinery projects including:
Koch: Project Manager / Manager of Project Development for 28 refinery expansion and efficiency projects including delayed coker and crude unit revamps, a new CCR reformer, FCCU expansions, paraxylene expansion. APMI: Project Director responsible for the pro forma for a grassroots refinery. APMI: Led a Coker Alliance between ConocoPhillips and D-Cōk from 2005 through 2008. APMI: Presented three Delayed Coker papers at the AFPM.
